Does someone over the age of 21 have to sign for a basket containing alcohol?
Yes. You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or receive a basket from us which contains alcohol. This is a Federal Law with no exceptions.
Do recipients have to sign for their packages?
It depends. For any gift that contains alcohol, the recipient, or someone else over 21, must sign for the package. For all other baskets, a signature is not required, but the driver does have the discretion to insist upon a signature, if the driver feels it is unsafe to leave the package unattended (i.e. an apartment building with no doorman).
What happens if nobody is home to sign for a package requiring a signature?
The driver will leave a note at the location, informing the recipient that a delivery attempt has been made and giving instructions on how the recipient can ensure they get the package delivered on the next business day. The driver will make 3 delivery attempts, on 3 separate days. If the recipient is not available during this time, the package will be returned to us.
Note: If you are sending a basket containing wine or champagne, and you’re not sure if anybody will be home to sign for it, we strongly suggest you ship the basket to a work address, or to an address where somebody over 21 will be there to sign for it.
What happens if the package is undelivered after all delivery attempts?
If delivery is unsuccessful after three attempts, the package will be returned to our warehouse facility. Once we receive the returned package, you will have two options:
- We can reship the order to the same address or a new address (additional reshipping fees will apply).
- We can process a partial refund after deducting the original shipping charges and a 15% restocking fee.
Can you ship alcohol anywhere in the U.S.?
We can ship wine to most states. Unfortunately, we cannot ship alcohol to a number of states, due to specific regulations in those states. The list of restricted states may change from time to time. At present, the restricted states are Kentucky, Mississippi, Delaware and Utah.
Can you ship chocolate anywhere in the U.S.?
Yes, we can ship chocolate anywhere in the US.
How long will it take to receive a package shipped via Ground delivery?
We ship from Vienna VA, and transit times throughout the U.S. can vary. Please see our delivery details for estimated transit times.
Do you offer same day delivery?
Yes, we offer same-day delivery in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. for a flat fee of $50. All orders must be placed before 2:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday (excluding legal holidays and occasionally during the weeks leading up to Christmas).
Do you ship the same day?
Yes. We will ship any basket the same day if necessary, for the orders placed before 3pm EST, Monday - Friday (except for legal holidays, the weeks prior to Christmas, personalized items other hand-painted bottles).
Can I schedule my delivery date?
Yes. On the checkout page, you have the ability to specify delivery date in the comments section for your gift basket delivered.
Is the delivery date guaranteed?
Yes! We are committed to delivering your order on time. We ship via UPS and ensure that every order is dispatched within the promised timeframe. While rare delays may occur due to weather conditions or high-demand periods beyond our control, we make every effort to ensure your package arrives as scheduled. You can rely on us for a smooth and timely delivery experience.
What happens if I enter the wrong shipping address?
Please contact Customer Service immediately through live chat or via email so they can assist you with this. We will only be able to make the address correction if the item has not been dispatched. Once the item has been dispatched, we will no longer have the ability to make any changes. If we are able to make the change, we cannot guarantee that the shipping company will honor it, due to their internal re-routing restrictions. If we are able to successfully make the correction, there will be a $20.00 address correction fee.
What about shipping to P.O. Boxes, hospitals and hotels?
P.O. Boxes: We cannot deliver to a P.O. Box
Hospitals:We generally do not recommend sending gift baskets to a patient in a hospital, unless you are certain the patient will still be in the hospital on the day the package is to be delivered. We are not responsible if the patient is no longer there when the basket arrives, if the basket gets misplaced within the hospital, or if the hospital staff fails to deliver the gift to the patient's room. It is a much safer bet to send the basket to the person's home and have a relative bring it to the hospital.
Hotel:We ask that you be absolutely sure the recipient will still be in the hotel when your gift arrives. We’ll deliver the gift on the hotel reception and we're not responsible if the guest is no longer at the hotel when the basket arrives, if the basket gets misplaced within the hotel, or if the hotel staff fails to deliver the gift to the guest.
How much will the shipping cost?
UPS Ground shipping is $20 for East Coast states, including Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. For the West Coast and other states such as California, Florida, Texas, Washington, and Colorado, the shipping cost is $30.
How can I track my order?
Registered Members can Login and click on the tracking number to the right of the order number you wish to track. The tracking number can be found on the tracking email we send you or you can click on the tracking link within the tracking email. Do you ship internationally?
Sorry, we do not ship out of the country.
How do you package the baskets for shipping?
All items in our wine gift baskets are carefully packed to prevent breakage. Our wine gift baskets are shrink wrapped within a shredded paper and gently placed into a shipping box. In either case, our protective packaging process meets or exceeds shipping requirements.
Will my information be sold to or shared with third parties?
Absolutely not. At wineandchampagnegifts.com, we respect the privacy of our customers; we will not provide our customer information to any third parties.

What size are the wine and champagne bottles in your baskets?
Our standard wine and champagne bottles are 750ml. We also offer larger formats, including Magnum (1.5L), Jeroboam (3L), and 6L bottles, depending on the gift selection.
What if you run out of inventory for an item?
While we try our hardest to make sure that doesn't happen, from time to time we may be temporarily out of stock on a product. If that happens, we will substitute it with an item of equal or greater value.
Can I substitute gift basket items?
One of the significant differences between us and other established gift basket providers is our ability to treat each customer in an individual and specialized way. To substitute an item, please call us. We will adjust the price of the basket, if necessary, to reflect the substitution. Additionally you have the option to pair any basket with any bottle available on our website.
